I Have Never Had An An Issue With My Skin Until Now, At The Age Of 67.

It started with a few red, raised, itchy spots on my lower legs and within 2 months it was widespread - both legs, thighs, arms, chest, back. No sleep due to the severe itching at night. After several visits to my dermatologist and allergist/immunologist, lots of blood tests and allergy testing, I have been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis or eczema. No allergies, no new products. I am baffled as to the cause of this. Has anyone else experienced such a sudden onset like this?

Yes, I am 69 and just developed eczema. I do not like taking prescriptions and once diagnosed that’s what the dermatologist kept recommending. Including a cream that cost 💲 700.00 and when I read the side effects I didn’t use it. I did however come across a lotion developed by Dr. Harlan called Smart Lotion which got great reviews. Skeptical I gave it a try and have been using it for about 4 days. It is going away and I recommend giving it a try. I had it on my hands, legs, arms. My husband who thought I probably got ripped off has admitted the stuff works. Good luck.

SherryW and GrameJonie...I have been on Dupixent now for almost a year with great results. I still get a few small itchy red patches at times which go away after a few days, worse in spring & summer. I have not had any significant side effects from the Dupixent.

Hi, I am Donna. I have had eczema since I am 2 1/2 and I just turn 71 years old.

To me my eczema goes in 7-8 years cycles that is flares up in different areas. I do watch the dairy products I eat but I do love a cold glass of milk. I never really had on my scalp and on my forehead, well now I do. More like dandruff and small patches where I seem to pick at and that doesn't help. I purchased shampoo and a salve on Esty that I put on my scalp and then wash it out.

I also came across the lotion developed by Dr. Harlan, the Smart Lotion which got great reviews. Like you Maureen (she wrote above) I was skeptical, but I purchased. It really helped my hand and the palms of my hands. Only have to use when I have a flare up. Dr. Harlan did recommend a shampoo which I purchased off of Amazon "Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo".

Will need to call and get a dermatology appointment though. My hair seems to be falling out. All my lab test have come back normal so here we go again. I don't think I will be able to take Dupixent due to have a fatty liver so I do watch what I eat. (It is also a shame how expensive medications for eczema are)!
