It started with a few red, raised, itchy spots on my lower legs and within 2 months it was widespread - both legs, thighs, arms, chest, back. No sleep due to the severe itching at night. After several visits to my dermatologist and allergist/immunologist, lots of blood tests and allergy testing, I have been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis or eczema. No allergies, no new products. I am baffled as to the cause of this. Has anyone else experienced such a sudden onset like this?
Are there any women on here who have severe eczema and are going through either peri-menopause or menopause. The skin on the face and body are dry and hot but using a moisturizer only helps a bit? I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow to discuss further treatments because I have people who constantly ask what happened to my face and I'm starting to feel embarrassed about going out in public. I just need to know if others who have gone through this have had the eczema clear up after menopause was over… read more
I have tried everything the doctor has giving. I have tried home remedies, over the counter, etc. Nothing is seeming to help him. HELP! Majority of the things I've used he screams and hollers saying it burns and I have to fight with him to let me put it on him again.
Anytime I use scented soap I get real flair up and I’ve use dove sensitive soap bar but I need a none scented soap with great moisturizer.
Recently diagnosed with pretty severe eczema. I have it head to toe - literally.

My skin cracks, flakes, and is painful to touch, sometimes bleeds. I can only have cotton close to my skin. I am miserable. The only time I don't have these problems is when I am someplace with high humidity. Help!!!
When I have eczema flares my skin (not just the areas with a rash), becomes really uncomfortable, like a pins and needles, raw sensation, where even wearing the softest clothing is uncomfortable. It’s almost like there’s a layer of sand between my clothing and my skin. I expect to have pain and itching in the areas with an active rash, but not all over. Is this typical with eczema? I keep forgetting to ask my Derm.
