Having It On My Scalp Covers It But It's Hard To Use Creams And Such Because It Makes My Hair Greasy And Unmanageable...
Anyone have it on your scalp... ???
Well, I got fed up with not being able to get a haircut due to my seborrheic excema and I don't blame them for not cutting it. So, bought a nice set of hair clippers and had my son cut it at a 1 inch length all the way around. Not very fancy but now I can administer the triamcinolone cream mush easier and I've started using the Eucerin Excema Flare Relief Body Cream and Shower Cream on my head too. I thought it would be greasy but it's not and the shorter hair really helps. I read that you can use olive oil or extra virgin coconut oil on you head to loosen the scales and dandruff. Leave it on 1 to 4 hours and brush thru it and wash out. I left the olive oil on for about an hour and it was very soothing and loosened a lot of the rash. I washed it with Head and Shoulders and that burned and made me very itchy and sore. Next time I used the Eucerin and washed it twice and no issues. I bought the coconut oil and will be using it this week as it has inflammatory and bacterial properties. We shall see how it goes. I also read an article that there's a possibility that Excema may be caused by bacteria on our skin but that is in the early stages of investigation. Interesting concept tho. π€
I have it on my scalp too. Scaley and sometimes itchy. Using Kristen Ess Daily Cleansing Shampoo without fragrance, color, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, alcohol or silicone. This is a clarifying shampoo. I bought it in Target but you can Google it. Some folks like it and some don't. I do but also bought the conditioner as it tends to be drying on me. I tried Nizoral but it was horrible for me. It made my head weep and it was soaking wet so I had to use towels on my pillow. Used Tsal too but didn't work for me. I checked on Nexus Free and Clear but it has fragrance. If I can just keep the head rash from weeping, they will cut my hair but if it's weeping or oozing they won't and I don't blame them. I went a few times when the cortisone shot cleared my head completely for a while. I bought a filter for my shower and think it helps. I can handle the rash on my skin but my head is really rough, especially when you can't get a haircut.
Use either Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner is Selsun Blue. I have started using products that are additive free and Detmatology tested from Ulta. It costs more, but a little goes a long way and itβs worth it to me.
In search of something as well. So far I've tried selsun blue, t-gel, dermarest, head n shoulders. To no avail. π’
I do. I add a couple drops of peppermint oil to my shampoo.
