I AM BEYOND MISERABLE. Mine started as an inner outer ear infection yet nobody sees anything on the outer ear but I can feel it it was itching irritated and now I've started losing hair in that area. I have read a lot on this and yet they don't listen to me but I know some of it is on the ear full because it is a line going up my ear and at the top of my ear you can literally see it pulling away from there when you clean your ear yet they don't see anything the girl that does my hair… read more

Although I don't think eczema can be cured I'm enjoying almost complete remission through light therapy. After all the traditional treatments: ointments, creams, antibiotics and anti histamines, my derm said I might be a good candidate for light therapy. I've been free of sores, plaques and best of all, itching, for over a year. I'm also doing targeted laser treatment for my scalp. I'm on a maintenance program of once-a-week. It may be something to look into.

Been there. Try an ENT or an immunologist. Best to you!

Hi @ Blonde3120,
I've had problems with Dr's before. They weren't specialized, regular MD's. I was called a liar about a medical issue. They charged my health insurance and me. Most importantly they did nothing and would send me home. I reported them to the state medical board. I should have hired a lawyer too. Eczema is invisible. What do they expect to see???.. I'm so sorry your going through the discrimination and the insults to your intelligence about your health. I would report every one of them. I know that seems mean but we have patients rights and the right to participate in our own Healthcare. I'm sorry this is happening to you.

Oral steroids? After a year of misdiagnosis and wrong treatments, I found a good clinical derm doc and I get a shot of prednisone every month. It's intramuscular so it slowly releases throught the month. My immunologist has also been thorough. Don't give up! Best to you.

Thank you! My biggest problem is that nobody has diagnosed anything. I'm at a loss on where to even go because I've seen so many supposedly "specialists" who claim there's nothing there. I just keep coming up with things that I am seeing and feeling but it's in a spot that's very hard for me to see. Regardless after 3 years and it's not going away obviously there's something it is so sore between my ear and my scalp because I've done so many different things to try to clear it up and then I get told that I'm manipulating my ears it's crazy I have to fight so hard to convince them but it's getting to where the hair is looking like ingrown hairs or the the skin has gotten so infected that it's stuck in there I keep saying it's like not treating a pimple for 3 years I'm just at a loss
