I am not sure about what you mean of "regular" CereVe. Is that the white jar with blue lettering instead of the one with red lettering? Both are easy to find on amazon. No, I have not experienced any burning. Do you have open sores? If so you might need to get advice. My "go to " for sores has always been vitamin E--either opening a capsule or from a bottle. Keep us posted.

I have CeraVe cream (regular) because it's cheaper than the itch formula and easier to find. Have you ever felt a burning sensation when you applied the CeraVe? That's why I haven't used it. It burns on the raw places. Any suggestions?

Leticia, In this situation I use OTC Hydracortisone and CereVe itch relief cream. I get to it as soon as possible and for me after using cortisone for 3 days and nights and the Itch relief cream day and night it improves and after improvement just the itch relief cream day and night.

Leticia, In rereading, I would not put CereVe or any cream like that on an open sore if it is raw. For mild irritatiions Vitamin E works great. My son had a burn on arm and he was amazed how better it looked in the morning. You could even I talk to an advice nurse to seek what to put on any raw places.
IAttention: I want to add that in addition to the vitamin E I also use a moisturizer over that. In addition, people should Not be afraid to use OTC hydrocortizone when needed. It has helped me many times along with moisturizer. Hydrocortizone helps with inflammation.

Vitamin E? OK maybe I should try that. My skin looks clear right now but it's extremely dry, painful, and very itchy. I bought lotion but it is not very helpful. The Aquafor ointment works better and is less greasy than things like petroleum jelly.
