I originally thought Bare Minerals would be something helpful to me but I was wrong, they have a perfume or something in it that is horrible so I quit using. I actually went back to using Cover Girl loose powder. How I protect my face from any applied makeup is by always applying a gel moisturizer then letting it sit for 2 to 3 minutes before doing the foundation. I also have an eye shadow primer that is used which dries extremely quick and it's wonderful. I love using it as even though I don't use a lot of eye shadow it makes the eye shadow color really shine.
Oh, something else I did is I dropped the applicators and went directly to using makeup brushes and eye shadow brushes so I just clean them at the end of the week. I also found an easy way to change colors - Sigma Switch and I love it! I can just clean everything at once at the end of the week.
My eyes are very sensitive so I'm starting to baby them more and using the eye shadow brushes is the best way to keep things protected for me. I can actually keep the eye shadow limited which is something new that I have discovered. I'm also learning new ways of using the makeup brushes for blending to keep that natural look as well. Hope the above information helps!

What makeup won't irritate eczema-prone skin?

Finding makeup that doesn't trigger flares can be challenging, but focusing on gentle, minimal ingredients helps. Here's what to look for:

Key ingredients to seek out:
- Fragrance-free formulas (avoid even "unscented" or natural scents like lavender)
- Mineral-based options like titanium oxide
- Minimal additives (no perfumes, dyes, or menthol)

Always patch test first. Apply new products to a small area and wait 24-48 hours to check for reactions, especially before using on your face or inflamed areas.

Some members have found success with higher-end brands, though results vary by individual:
- MAC foundation
- Yves Saint Laurent
- Dior Star

A MyEczemaTeam member shared: "I use the expensive brands, not the cheap brands at Walmart. The cheaper makeup makes me break out, especially on my lips."

However, price doesn't guarantee compatibility—some expensive brands still contain irritating ingredients.

Important note: Everyone's skin reacts differently. What works for one person may not work for you, so finding your perfect match may take some trial and error.
