It sounds like you're feeling frustrated that hydrocortisone didn't work for your facial eczema and that your current treatment isn't giving you relief either. That's a really tough spot to be in, and it makes sense that you want to explore other options.

It may be worth going back to your doctor or asking for a referral to a dermatologist to discuss alternatives. There are non-steroid prescription options for facial eczema, such as topical calcineurin inhibitors, which work differently from steroids and are often recommended specifically for sensitive facial skin.

When speaking with your doctor, it can help to:

- Keep a symptom diary noting when flares happen and what seems to trigger them
- Note exactly where on your face the eczema appears
- Describe how much the symptoms are affecting your daily life
- Ask specifically about non-steroid prescription alternatives

Being clear and detailed about how much this is impacting you can really help your doctor understand the urgency and consider other treatment paths.

One MyEczemaTeam member shared that steroid creams weren't suitable for their thinning facial skin either, so you're definitely not alone in needing to find alternatives.

Don't give up — there are options worth exploring with the right specialist.
