Overview
Zoryve is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the topical treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (the most common form of eczema) in adults and children 2 years of age and older. Different strengths are approved for different age groups: 0.15 percent for adults and children aged 6 years and older, and 0.05 percent for children aged 2 to 5 years. Zoryve is also known by its drug name, roflumilast.

Zoryve is a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor. Scientists believe it helps treat eczema by reducing inflammation in the skin, which can relieve symptoms like itching, discoloration, and swelling.

How do I take it?
Prescribing information states that Zoryve cream should be applied once daily to affected areas of the skin. Zoryve is for topical use only and should not be used in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. The medication should be used exactly as prescribed by a healthcare provider.

Side effects
Common side effects of Zoryve include headache, nausea, pain at the application site, diarrhea, vomiting, upper respiratory tract infection, rhinitis (nasal inflammation), and conjunctivitis (eye inflammation).

Rare but serious side effects may include allergic reactions such as swelling, rash, or difficulty breathing. People with moderate to severe liver impairment should not use Zoryve, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.
