New Remedies

A MyEczemaTeam Member asked a question 💭

Can anyone please advise on new remedies to sooth really bad eczema around the mouth and on the lips. There all red raw, flakey and often weeping and bleeding around the edges. All usual eczema creams I’ve tried have not worked if anything they’ve made it worse (stinging and burning)
Willing to try anything. Thanks

Melt some butter 10 sec in microwave, apply for few days it will sting initially but it’s magic.

Homeopathic Colloidal Silver works wonders for me, especially on the face, neck, and chest. Reduces inflammation and itching quickly, and is a clear, soothing, cooling, and healing over-the-counter gel. Can be purchased in vitamin shops, PCC markets, and probably Whole Foods outlets and Amazon.

Vaseline

On your lips I'd maybe just try for a really hydrating lip balm rather than a cream? The skin there is so sensitive that, at least in my experience, a lot of creams just made it worse. I tent to put really oily moisturiser or such on my lips; vaseline, 50/50, children's farm, hemp ointment from body shop.

For lips I would like to recommend a couple of organic non-petroleum products that I just found. Based on the recommendation of another user in this forum I ordered two products…..Alba Botanica un-petroleum multi-purpose jelly and Sky Organics organic petroleum free jelly. The Sky Organics product is a bit lighter so I tend to use this one more on my face and lips but both products work very well. It seems that products that contain petroleum jelly (Vaseline, some of the CeraVe products, etc.) seem to “sit” on top of the skin sometimes, not really moisturizing for the long term. I found that these organic non-petroleum products seem to last a lot longer after application and they are especially great on the lips.
