I am trying to help my thirteen year old get her eczema under control. Her arms are red and where not red, mostly white patches. We have tried every lotion. This year it spread to her knees. Specialist at Children's laughed at me when I suggested food allergy. Steroids only make the white patches worse. I have tried every natural lotion imaginable and nothing works. White patches are actually more concerning than the red.

My son is 16 and we had a similar experience. It was a dermatologist who had the nerve to say we just needed to put more lotion on him. He is red and itchy everywhere on his body except the bottoms of his feet and palms of this hands. He is covered in lotion most of the time, but nothing stops the itching. We went to an allergist and she tested him for food and environmental allergies. He had none. But she is helping him anyway and he started Dupixent last week. We are praying from some relief to occur in the next couple of months. I have felt defeated too, but don't give up. Try different doctors until someone helps you.
I do. When I'm out in the heat and I start to sweat I start itching
Anyone have trouble with sun and heat?
Follow your instinct about food allergies and have her tested by an allergist. After years of constant itching I was tested for Food allergies to find I have several that I wasn't aware of that caused my eczema flare ups. I use Eucerine creams and lotions to moisturize. Hope she finds some relief.
