Members confirmed that developing eczema later in life is surprisingly common, with many sharing their own diagnoses between ages 61 and 80, often wondering why it appeared so suddenly after decades without symptoms. Several members noted possible triggers including stress, allergies, medications, a history of asthma or contact dermatitis, and one member shared how their childhood eczema disappeared for years before returning at 65. A recurring theme was the intense discomfort of itching, dry, cracking skin, particularly on hands, and one member found relief using collagen peptides in their coffee after steroids caused additional problems.
