Members shared compassionate advice for helping a three-year-old grandson suffering from severe nighttime itching, with the most common recommendations including non-drowsy 24-hour allergy pills like Allegra, Benadryl at bedtime to aid sleep, melatonin combined with antihistamines and magnesium, and switching to hypoallergenic laundry detergents and fabric softeners. Several members opened up about their own struggles with children experiencing similar nightly eczema flare-ups, with one parent describing their four-year-old's heartbreaking cycle of bleeding and despair until finding relief with Dupixent injections, which improved skin by 60 to 70 percent after months of failed treatments. A recurring theme was the importance of addressing environmental triggers like bedding and clothing fabrics, trying natural remedies like coconut oil or castor oil blends, and considering dietary changes such as removing dairy, gluten, and sugar to reduce inflammation and help children finally sleep through the night.

I can't imagine having a child or being one with this. I'm 49 and I woke out of a dead sleep and 4 different parts of my body were on fire. I had my boyfriend grab ice packs and he put a gummie in my mouth and both helped it calm. My entire chest is bright red and flaking. It's so painful. Moving, air temp change, prickly but the FIRE is more than I can handle. I'm a week into dupixent and it is working, just slow. But better than where I was.

I did find castro oil mixed with mango butter at Dollar General. It smells great and it's getting rid of the scales on my head.
