Members shared mixed experiences about how exercise affects their eczema, with many noting that while sweat can trigger intense itching during workouts, the stress relief and overall health benefits often outweigh the temporary discomfort. Several members described practical adaptations they've made, including switching to water aerobics or swimming to stay cool, patting dry throughout exercise, showering immediately after, and focusing on lower-intensity activities like walking or weight training instead of high-intensity cardio that produces excessive sweat. A recurring theme was frustration with the lack of clear medical answers about eczema triggers, leading members to experiment individually with factors like diet, water quality, stress management, and exercise routines to find what works best for their unique bodies.

I only have sugars from fruits and veggies and I have horrible excema. There's no magic solution. For some it's dairy, others it's metals. Others have been told and eliminated their allergens and still no improvement. Some say it's internal gut, liver, kidney and lymphtic system bad health and to buy their cleanses. But I rarely see results on their studies, like true research by an independent source. When I was oozing places, excercise and heat were horrible. Now that I'm healing, the endorphines and movement help me.

Hi @A MyEczemaTeam Member - these are all great questions! Everyone is different. For me personally, I do find that eating high consumption of sugar or processed foods heightens my symptoms. Sweat can make my skin itchy, but I make sure I pat dry it off while I'm working out. I also stem away from doing high intensity workouts that will have me sweat a lot and more so focus on heavy weight training and walking at a moderate pace to keep my heart rate up and consistent. I will workout indoors or out doors depending on the weather and how much skin is doing. I normally tend to stay away from being outside during hot summer days! Hope this helps.

I do water aerobics. It works for me. Hoping to start again in February. So looking forward to going. Do classes 4 times a week!

Many mental health experts believe most skin disorders are neuro-psychosomatic.
There may be some truth to this because stress makes my symptoms worse.
Also sleep quality is another reason to stay stress free, Exercise relieves tensions and may explain why my conditions lessen with more exercise.
I don't take any pharma products , not even aspirin. So I can rule out drug interaction.

Recently I tested my hot water heater quality briefly by filling up a glass and looking. It appeared to be a little yellow. I think rust, and I have heard rust can be allergenic. Anyone here has the same question?
I am planning to go tankless to test this idea. If my eczema is from rust at the water heater source, then I may test this theory. I will write when I get results.
Like many here mentioned, there seem to be no real research into eczema and what causes it. In that sense, we are all on our own to find the cause.
Medical industry itself is not clear about eczema, the causes and remedies.
Hard to believe, but we seem to not exist for this part of medical industry.
No real answers. Anyone else frustrated?
