Members overwhelmingly praised Dupixent for managing eczema, with many describing dramatic improvements ranging from complete clearing of flare-ups to significant reduction in symptoms, though some noted lingering dryness or redness in certain areas. Several members shared practical side effect management strategies, including eye drops for dry eyes, turmeric and black pepper for joint aches, antihistamines and specialized moisturizers like Avene Xeracalm balm for itching, and Dove baby wash for gentle cleansing. A recurring theme was gratitude for finally finding relief after years of ineffective topical steroids and over-the-counter treatments, with members expressing hope that newer medications might offer even better results for those still experiencing partial symptoms.

I have been on dupixent for the last six months and the itch on my upper body is still there. I am about to stop the dupixent and try a diffferent medication.
Good luck for all.

I have suffered from eczema since birth, but have had a few remission times in between. Stress always seemed to trigger it. However, 4 years ago out of nowhere I started to flare, I was 95% covered head to toe. Tried all sorts, topical, oral steroids, light therapy, acetretin, couldn't go on cyclosporine, due past cancer. So was put on dupixent, bottom half of my body cleared almost immediately, skin was very dry, upper body is a lot better, dry bits, nowhere near like it used to be, but skin is still very red, I get facial flares, also on my neck & chest, plus it comes & goes on my arms. Derm thinks a newer medication will help ๐Ÿ™„, I'm open to try something new, & if they don't work can go back onto dupixent.
It would be great to be more stable, if you know what I mean

Saw your question about Dupixent, and wanted to share my experience. Since starting this medication I have had NO flare ups. I'm not on any other medication for my eczema, and this is by far the best, I would hate to go back to my outbreaks that were horrible before using this. I haven't found any topical medication that was covered by my insurance and any over the counter stuff was just a waste of time and money. The Dupixent injections are not painful (and I hate needles). Good luck to everyone reading this.

I take antihistamines, fexofenadine 4x daily, still use topical steroids as needed, tacromolis (protopic .o1%) as needed. Body wash is dove baby wash head to toe, empaderm cream, & ointment on really bad days, but have just found avene xeracalm balm is excellent for calming the itch & redness.
Vitamin d didn't do anything for me, sm experimenting with probiotics at the moment, plus I take evening primrose oil, omega 3 oil, biotin tablets.
I hope you find relief soon

Kathleen,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide a detailed reply. Wow, eczema since birth that is a long time since I believe we are close in age. I had mostly eczema before 2023 in upper theigh area of legs and under arm pits. Got covid 19 in January 2023 and have off and on rashes near my eyes and as of March 15 red dots on my arms, chest, legs, and underarms. Assume it is complication from covid, but have gone to primary physician and dermatologist and they are still working on what it is. Luckily blood tests and skin biopsy did not show any cancer or kidney issues which I was afraid of due to my dad dying at age 60 with multiple myeloma.

I am trying now to increase my vitamin D to 11000 IUs a day for a week to see what that does. Not sure about Dupixent for now, but also am scheduled for an allergist to see if I may have become allergic to something after Covid.

I also have recently seen for the first time eczema on my hands.

What do you take for itching, body wash. mositurizer and topicals ?

So sorry to hear you have suffered so long with eczema.

V/R,
Mark
