Dear Triish3:
You don't need a doctor to report reactions to a drug. You can call the drug manufacturer yourself and report the reaction.
Fluocinonide is a Class II steroid. It's not the strongest steroid on the market, but it is the second strongest. There are five levels and Class I is the lowest. For example, the over the counter steroids you can get at a drugstore are typically 1% hydrocortisone and they are Class I.
Personally, I will only use Class I steroids, as they work for me without using a stronger product. I hope you will eventually be able to ween off the stronger steroid and go to a weaker steroid (of course, with your doctor's approval).
You might want to try Eucerin Eczema Relief Cream for dry skin. It has no steroids at all. It's a great product I've been using for more than five years. I like it much more than Aveeno creams. Eucerin is thick, so if you prefer lotion consistency, you would not like the Eucerin cream. My doctors told me thick creams work better for eczema. Other doctors say the consistency of the cream makes no difference.
I love La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 for my face (not the one with sunscreen in it).
It's expensive, but it works very well for me and it is the first product I have used on my face without my eyes stinging and without a flare of my eczema.
Good luck to you and I hope these notes help you.

Dear Roundremedy:
Thank you so much for all the great suggestions. I have not eliminated coffee, alcohol, or milk. My skin is quite clear now, so I don't really feel a need to go on an elimination diet. However, if my eczema does get worse, I certainly will consider the good suggestions you have made. No matter what, I do firmly believe I should eliminate alcohol, as alcohol causes inflammation in the body, and I have significant inflammation in my stomach and colon.
I don't drink milk, but I do eat cheese. I have osteoporosis, so eating cheese helps me to achieve my calcium goals. Calcium is better absorbed through food than from a pill, so I eat cheese - about one ounce (one slice) each day.
I only drink decaf coffee, but I think you are saying to eliminate any kind of coffee.
Thanks for the tips.

Dear Robin:
I'm really thrilled to have your response and I appreciate that you have shared the websites that give more information about the negative effects of Covid vaccines. I'm going to study the information presented in these websites carefully.
I actually hate taking Covid vaccines, yet I have been heavily encouraged by my Cardiologist to get the vaccine. I have been under my doctor's care for about five years and I have a great deal of respect for his opinions. So I recently received my Covid booster and I'm doing fine...just thinking my eczema is somewhat worse. There are so many things besides the Covid shot that could be causing my eczema to be worse.
At the same time, I am so torn, as I hate vaccines. So thank you for presenting an alternative viewpoint I appreciate this, as I am forever learning and I agree that the pharmaceutical companies are out to make a whole lot of money. The more vaccines they create, the more money they make.
I am very sorry to hear about your father. I'm sure this caused you and your family great sadness. I wish you strength and courage as you journey through your grief.

Thank you Cindy. Do you avoid getting Covid vaccines for this reason - that it makes eczema worse?
