Members responded to someone seeking relief from a persistent, deep internal itch that traditional creams and ointments cannot reach, offering suggestions including allergy testing to identify potential food triggers, antihistamines like Piriton for relief, and prescription treatments such as triamcinolone ointment or Dupixent. Several members emphasized the importance of switching from soap to emollient cleansers in cooler water and experimenting with different products since each person's eczema responds differently. A recurring theme was the acknowledgment that finding what works requires patience and self-experimentation, as standard topical treatments often fall short for deeper systemic itching.

I had the same problem, trying to find the cause of the itch. An allergist tested and found several food allergies that I wasn't aware of. If you haven't already done so maybe that will help.

There are over the counter products which can help but each person is different and each 'type' of eczema reacts differently to different ingredients/products. You really need to be your own guinea pig (so -to-speak). I've found that what I bathe with is just as important or even more so to long term skin health than creams or prescription meds for moisturizing. Cleanse with emollients NOT soap in cooler water. Try this for cleansing....
