Members discussed whether shingles and eczema are connected, with the consensus being that they are distinct conditions caused by different mechanisms, though some wondered if one might have triggered the other. Several members shared that their eczema appeared for the first time later in life, often after receiving a COVID vaccine, with one member noting that two doctors had even called it a COVID rash. A recurring theme was curiosity about whether the COVID vaccine or the virus itself might have played a role in new skin conditions, with one member suggesting a simple survey to explore potential correlations between vaccine type, COVID infection, and age.

Me too at 81, now 83. Started in 2021. Two docs said "oh, Covid rash?" I didn't have Covid but got the Pfizer MRNA vaccine. I looked that up and evidently it's a thing but more so if you actually had Covid. Not so much with the vaccine. Boy, Covid has certainly messed a lot of people up even when they survive it. I would get the vaccine again, better than dying, for sure.

No, Shingles is caused by the Varicella virus and Eczema is an over active immune response (autoimmune disease)

I agree with that! Never considered the COVID vaccine related to this eczema.
Looks like a good topic for a simple survey that correlates - COVID vaccine, actual COVID ,type of vaccine and age.
Survey Monkey would work well.

I wondered about that as well! How did I escape the wrath of eczema until 58 years went by and now I can't get rid of it?
