Thank you Mary for sharing your story. I had one flare up a few years ago on my right breast. I used Cerave cream and it stopped itching but left a scar. My recent flare up is after Breast radiation and is mainly on the left breast and my torso. I tried creams and they did nothing. I went to the doctor and have been using Triamcinolone for a week and they are healing and much lighter but they might not completely disappear. Time will tell.
Hi Linda
Over the last three years, I have struggled with nummular eczema.
At first, I thought I had ringworm, treated the rash for ringworm, and it never went away. It’s somewhat faded, but always remained on my inner thighs. Fast forward three years later, I have numerous spots/clusters all over my legs, arms and torso. At first I used essential oils Mixed with coconut oil. Then I used raw Shea butter with neem oil. Nothing totally took it away. Went to the dermatologist and she prescribed. Triamcinolone …I used that for a while and no improvement. Then the dermatologist prescribed tacrolimus I tried that for 10 days and no improvement .
My daughter found a lady on Etsy that makes a gel from beef tallow and I’ve been using that for 2 weeks now.
I don’t see a difference yet.
Oh and I have also tried a turmeric paste .
Included with all these treatments. My daily lotion is Eucerin . I’ve also used arnica to see if that would help..
It’s interesting I don’t know what a flareup is, because my rash never fades or goes away, and I seem to be getting more. So just recently I’ve experienced the itching and burning. A flare up?
I am a healthy 61-year-old that has a plant-based diet, I exercise and drink plenty of water everyday.
I was also diagnosed with hyperpigmentation, so my understanding is that when I do get a bug bite or a “breakout” the pigment gets dark. Therefore, the outcome of the eczema rash never fades? I really don’t know. I have researched this issue several times, and cannot find too many answers.
All of this happened in the last 3 years… before that I’ve never had skin issues …acne as a teen Never!
Maybe hormonal? My menopause was mild. I still have night sweats but not bad.
I’m stumped?
I don’t wear dresses and short sleeves any more, because I am self-conscious of my skin. So that’s what I have for you as my experience with nummular eczema/hyperpigmentation..
I hope this helps you in your journey
Take care,
Mary Ann
