Since that time I have experienced breakouts on my arms, legs, forearms, armpits, knees, and behind my knees. Originally I was of the assumption the dysidrotic eczema would only affect feet and hands. Is this type of eczema only on feet and hands? Can it spread to other areas? Or do I have more than one type
Thanks A Bunch Nate. Much appreciated
It is my belief that the topical steroids actually make it spread to different parts of your body. As I have experienced with my daughter, it started just in one spot and the more steroid creams. We used the more spread all over her body then I went into a rabbit hole of research with the topical steroids, we ended up having her go through topical steroid withdrawal taking her off. It was a living hell for her and for us but after the washout she has been so much better. You start to fix one little problem and then the steroids make it worse worse to the point where it is totally out of control. Don’t take my word for it. Do your own research on steroids and topical steroid withdrawal for eczema.
I had what was almost certainly dishydrotic eczema for many years (a dermatologist told me it was either eczema or psoriasis). It went away completely when I stopped eating wheat. Just recently started getting eczema all over my body, except not on my hands or feet. You can definitely have more than one kind.
THANKS a bunch Anna6.
I have dishydrotic eczema also. When I first broke out in October, my hands had the little blisters, but I also got a patch on my shin. My foot didn't break out until later.
